Tesla rumored to allow dogcoin as a payment option, the latter rose 14% at one point during Tuesday

Market rumors claim that electric car giant Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) will allow dogcoin as a payment option for customers when purchasing cars, covering the Model X, Model Y, and Model 3 models.

The rumors are said to have started when a Twitter user looking at Tesla's website Javascript code discovered that the Tesla Model Y payment page code shows Dogcoin as a payment option.

While these rumors have not been officially confirmed, it is a catalyst for Dogcoin to rise. At one point on Tuesday, the price of dogcoin rose 14% intraday.

Previously, Tesla CEO Musk had said that some Tesla peripheral products could be purchased using dogcoin in the future.
